UNEXPECTED!!!

Anonymous August 3, 2007 at 2:09 am

Well, I was going to get one for school, but with that release date I’m going to have to get a laptop elsewhere.

Erik August 3, 2007 at 10:50 am

Bad idea, just wait and get this one instead. There is no small laptop in it’s pricerange, and you really want a small one. IMHO size is the best investment you can make.

If you are going to buy something that costs 10x more than Eee PC, I would recommend Lenovo they build high quality stuff, that doesn’t break when the warranty has expired (a la Dell).

pimpin August 3, 2007 at 11:46 am

Why the “F” would you pay $300 for a 4 GB, 7in display, that dont even have a CD/DVD. When you can get triple the ammount in a reg laptop. Just look around.

I mean you buy for 300,,,,plus 40 to 60 for shipping,,,lol,,,its a waste of money.

Heres just one example below of a better deal,,,,just look around,,,forget the stupid delayed EEE PC.

Asus probably isn’t gonna sell you a laptop for $200. That price was some fake announcement Asus and Intel made before Intel now was added to the OLPC board.

$200 is a price that a EEE laptop would be sold at in small quantities to developping countries, thus with a loss on each laptop.

Don’t expect Asus nor Intel to sell you a $200 laptop when they have a loss selling it at that price. $400 is a more likely price for EEE.

cclo August 3, 2007 at 12:06 pm

pimpin, tell me where can you get a 2 lb and 7″ mini laptop other than EeePC at a price of $250? Not your typical 14″ and 5.3 lb stupid laptop. You miss the whole point here.

pimpin August 3, 2007 at 12:15 pm

Well I would be willing to reconsider IF indeed its 250 or under,,,,but like Charbax comments above,,,,

“Don’t expect Asus nor Intel to sell you a $200 laptop when they have a loss selling it at that price. $400 is a more likely price for EEE.”

For that price,,,you can get triple the portable bang for the buck, as my link above shows.

Guess we’ll have to see. I’m more incline to believe with what Charbax states above.

i can’t believe this. i was looking forward to getting one of these bad boys

mindless_fool August 4, 2007 at 8:59 am

ya im about to give up on the eee as well…i want something small that doesnt feel like im hauling around a brick like my regular laptop, but im getting the feeling of vaporware. Asus still hasn’t gotten final specs out, the date keeps getting pushed back, the price keeps going up then down then up….will someone please make something like the eee a reality?!?!? pretty please?

Niskyspy August 4, 2007 at 8:06 pm

Hey, Admin.
Is there a way u can contact Asus and confirm this. So what one user posted that it will be delayed.

Michael August 5, 2007 at 7:14 pm

I received the same email information from Asus about release dates. I emailed Asus sales direct.

Awww. I want one so bad. If this evaporates I will be pissed. The OQO is just way too high-end for what I need.
