Hi! I really need help…..I am 16 and I really really want the Eee PC, it is just what I need to sling in a bag and carry to the beach / to comps and other stuff. But I can’t find it cheap in the UK!! I can easily find it in America and Canada for like $399, which is good, but they won’t ship cheaply to the UK, which sucks. I am looking for the 4g pink version with the webcam, shipping from the UK…I can only find it from PC world, and they are selling it for £270!! What a rip-off. K thanks for any help!! Can anyone tell me about the power saving features? I was thinking I might be able to use the Eee PC as a portable audio player when in transit. With the top closed can you continue to get audio output through headphones, and expect to extend battery hours?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

While I am really impressed by the eee concept, I would like to see and hold one before I buy.
Are any stores stocking them? Best Buy and Newegg are order only, and no return.

I have recently read about some broad insurance offers like Assurz which allows you to return any listed items for any reason EXCEPT product failure.

Anybody have any helpful suggestions about this?

no-one answered the question I am asking too. surf or 702. I am always near outlets, and the longer trips by car for me are around 2 hours. The problem with me is that I own a (battery dead) toshebia libretto 110CT and didn’t like it. If It had a battery I would use it, bt nope, i’,m out of luck. If I Didn;t like the toshebia libretto, will I like this? I am a bassist with skinny figers, but the libretto had the tinyest keys I have ever seen. ( the unit is the size of a VHS closed, on ebay is 200 bucks, half the cost but half the power and no wireless… and windows 98… ouch)

btw I am a student in Highschool.

it can’t really cost *that* much more to paint the whole thing and I wouldn’t mind the battery being black or white or whatever

I totally agree with fadumpt about the casing color schemes. If you’re gonna go green on the case then make the entire computer (including the battery) green, not just the lid.

Companies do this to save money. If they had to do the entire case green, blue, or pink then they would have to have different color batteries and stocking for each model. But still, it takes away from the experience when its a cheap lid coloring cop-out.

By the way, has anybody noticed that there are no accessories available yet for the Eee? I’d love a spare battery ya know… I am so scared to lose my charger because I would be SOL out of luck….
