Cloudbook Delayed

January 25th, 2008 by ant

Remember the all the delays we had in getting the Eee PC?

Looks like the Everex Cloudbook is now joining in the fun of delays. Today was the release date (January 25th), but it failed to show up online for purchase last night and this morning. ComputerWorld finally got the scoop that the device was delayed for some last minute software tweaks. No indication was given on when it will actually be released.

At least ASUS never left us at the altar on the day of intended release!

and we thought Asus was bad … calling it off on the day of the scheduled release is really a slap into the face of a potential buyer.

    yeah, ouch.

I’m willing to be “left at the alter” if it means 30gb hard drive, and something that ships with a decent linux distro, I have an Eee 4G 701, an Eee 2G Surf, and I’ve given the surf to one of my kids, when I get a Cloudbook I’ll give the 4G to my other child. Sorry Asus, but your gonna have to do better.

    Just my 2 cents.

This is pretty sloppy. Because of the lead time from factory to retailers, they had to have known at least a week ago that there was no way to make the release date. Why wait to announce it?

Woohoo, UPS just dropped my Everex Cloudbook off, its sweet!
I’m giving my youngest the 4g 701, this little unit is just what the doctor ordered.
Anyway, if you can get your hands on one, its been worth the wait.
