Next Eee PC Country: Russia

February 1st, 2008 by ant

I honestly didn’t even realize that the Eee PC hadn’t been officially released in Russia yet, but apparently it hasn’t! There’s a pretty huge following online, and we even have a Russian language section on our forum.

No worries, though, as the Eee PC will finally officially be released in March. Stores will receive the 4G version, as it traditionally is released first in each new country. You can read the article in Russian here.

[thanks again, Romashka!]

Damn, Google’s Translate is getting better and better. I almost forgot I was reading a machine based translation, and the translation is only slightly inaccurate

Wait a moment - wasn’t Russia the country that had struck one of the first deals with Asus to purchase 1 million units of the computer for their schools? Have even those been delivered yet?

Russia is where I bought my ASUS S200… the grandfather of the EEE

There is a striking similarity between the two machines… big difference is I paid $400 for my EEE…. and $2500 for the S200 (which my ex-wife now has)… ah, sigh. Well whatever, I’m happy with my EEE.

Eee PC 701 (Win XP Home) now officially sells in Russia. I’ve already seen it in local electronic shop.
It costs $425 and it seems a pretty good deal.
But.. I think I’ll wait for Eee PC 900 cause it’s already shown at CeBIT and worth extra $150.
