Eee PC 701 (Win XP Home) now officially sells in Russia. I've already seen it in local electronic shop.
It costs $425 and it seems a pretty good deal.
But.. I think I'll wait for Eee PC 900 cause it's already shown at CeBIT and worth extra $150.

Russia is where I bought my ASUS S200... the grandfather of the EEE

http://www.ixbt.com/portopc/asus-s200n.shtml

There is a striking similarity between the two machines... big difference is I paid $400 for my EEE.... and $2500 for the S200 (which my ex-wife now has)... ah, sigh. Well whatever, I'm happy with my EEE.

Wait a moment - wasn't Russia the country that had struck one of the first deals with Asus to purchase 1 million units of the computer for their schools? Have even those been delivered yet?

Damn, Google's Translate is getting better and better. I almost forgot I was reading a machine based translation, and the translation is only slightly inaccurate
