Eee PC 4G In Color

by ant on February 7, 2008

If you’ve been waiting to buy your Eee PC 4G in Green, Blue, or Pink; you’re in luck! The Pink version is already available as a special Valentines Day edition which, in my opinion, is a much better way of saying “I love you” than grocery store flowers or candy to the one you love.

The Green and Blue versions are just around the corner (according to htlounge)- they’ll be the same as the 2G surf colors- but with the extra features of the 4G including larger battery and webcam. Hopefully these new colors will allow the retailers to keep more regular 4G units in stock, it seems as though they sell out quite quickly!

If i get my girl a pink EEE, i probably will get beat up by her… lol

I still hold that they should have done a better job with the coloring…perhaps non pastel colors and a full covering of the color…maybe sans battery.

Oh well, I’ll just join the “never happy” crowd in the corner :)

Looks like NewEgg’s got a deal on the pink one with free shipping & a free 2g SD card. Get your pink on!

My dear husband just got me a white 4g (black wasn’t available) as an early Valentine’s Day gift. I would probably beat him up if he’d gotten a pink one. I do, however, think it’s a much better gift than flowers or jewelry.

Then again, if he HAD gotten a pink one, I bet he’d be bugging me less about borrowing it to show to his friends. ;)

hi all. ihink the green one would be pretty neat. different from the clad gray and black designs i usually see. i had an nec mobilepro 780 that had a 90% sized keyboard. how is the asus eee keyboard compared to it? thanks!

websense is nonsense. almost everything is blocked at my school -_-

I got the pink one for myself. I think it’s funny.

According to the store owner though, the pink 4G model is a limited run for Valentine’s Day. No idea where htlounge got their info, but the store owner’s distributor has told him that there was no news of different coloured 4G models.

Of course, that can change. Just relaying what I’ve been told.

With a pink laptop I’m gonna get laid for sure this Valentines Day!

eeegirl February 7, 2008 at 8:18 pm

if your only getting laid on valentines day and have to buy a e3 to guaranty getting laid then your with the wrong chic!!!!

i think the pink makes the eee look a bit tacky. id prefer black (which i have) or white.

“websense is nonsense. almost everything is blocked at my school -_-”

Maybe that’s because your school thinks you’re there to study, not goof off by surfing on the Internet.

it was 3rd period at my school, i have a spare. no class. :D

nobody has an idea on the keyboard, or should i just buy it and see how it works out?

Someone from here mentioned that the Micro Center store in the Detroit area had the Eee PC 4G in stock and running in the showroom, so I drove over to see one. I played with both the black and white for about 45 minutes. As I thought might happen, I came home with the white model — easier to see those blue Fn keys. Oh, and I also bought a new Linksys “g” router to go with it.

As someone who has been using PC’s continuously since the Trash-80, I have to say that I’m impressed! The little Eee performs as advertised and often better. The only thing it will not do is show video news clips from some of the major news broadcasters. Youtube works fine, though.

Yeah, like some others, I had a slight problem making it work with the Linksys router — and, of course, getting the Eee to save my security key. But, that security key thing was probably an operator error and I’ll know if that’s true shortly.

Meanwhile, I’ve probably got over 18 hours use on the little computer and am very happy with it. I live on the seventh floor of a large ten floor apartment building. The Eee and the Linksys router gives me good coverage over five floors and part of a sixth.

Colour (Canadian spelling) may satisfy non-computing objectives but the thieves will love you for it as they do the iPods in colour. Black just doesn’t seem to make it with them !

Ai Have a Perl White one for 2 reasons:
1 There was only white in the store
2 I like it becouse it`s polished, unlike the other colors and it`s touchi is better. The others` touch is like cheap plastic, but the white one is not, it`s close /not so far/ to Apple. Others are close to any cheap notebook like MSI.

Where oh where February 20, 2008 at 6:02 pm

Where oh where can I buy a pink 4G?

Carisse March 20, 2008 at 1:58 am

I generally prefer white, as the other colours, except black probably, just don’t look ‘full enough’ if you know what I mean. They’re more like pastel kinda colours, not solid enough.

But anyway, having a white one makes people go, “Omg, is that a mini mac?”
It’s really entertaining hearing that!
