CarryMobile Snake Print Case Contest Winner

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 by ant

The winner of the CarryMobile Snake Print Case from our recent contest is Newsguy, as his post number 105 was randomly selected. Congratulations to him- his Eee PC will now have some solid protection! He says he’ll drop us a note on how he likes the case, so we’ll certainly pass that on to all of you.

I hope you all enjoyed the contest, it’s the first time I’ve ran ever ran one. The most fun was reading all of your responses to the contest question- it seems like many of your Eee PC’s live in constant danger! Please feel free to send me feedback on future contest ideas. I’d like to be able to include the community in some sort of voting-for-best-post situation in future contests rather than random drawings.

Keep those Eee PC’s safe, and look for more contests from us in the future!

Next Eee PC Country: Russia

Friday, February 1st, 2008 by ant

I honestly didn’t even realize that the Eee PC hadn’t been officially released in Russia yet, but apparently it hasn’t! There’s a pretty huge following online, and we even have a Russian language section on our forum.

No worries, though, as the Eee PC will finally officially be released in March. Stores will receive the 4G version, as it traditionally is released first in each new country. You can read the article in Russian here.

Eee PC Coming To South Korea

Friday, February 1st, 2008 by ant

According to this article [english translation], the ASUS Eee PC 4G will be launched and sold in South Korea on February 22, 2008. It will be available in Black or White first, and the other green, pink, and blue versions will be available in time.

It’s difficult to tell from the article translation, but it looks like they will either run Windows XP, or may be available in both Linux and Windows variants.

They will sell for 400,000 South Korean won, which translates to about $423 USD.

[Edit 2/2/08 5:15am ] Looks like I got the price wrong because of translation issues. It will be selling for 499,000 won which is about $528 USD.

[thanks for the tip, Say!]
