Looking for Eee PC Accessories Infomation?

by ant on March 1, 2008

PC World has created a great overview of the various accessories currently available for the Eee PC along with upcoming ones as well.

The article covers batteries, chargers, travel adapters, mounts, and cases.

one available, others preorder – expected 3Q, etc.

whatever… boring…

“The mounts have an antishock feature that prevents an Eee PC from skipping, according to the vendor’s Web site.”

Skipping? Since when do EEEs skip?

hkicedude March 1, 2008 at 10:04 pm

Boring accessories. The only one real useful so far is the extra battery and larger battery. It would be nice if Asus will release a small BT doogle themself that would work with EeePC (default Linux OS) and with a simple install process to make things work. Instead of like now people, use wiki instructions to take chance with other BT doogle and try to see if it works.

It’s funny to think that if you bought all of the accessories for the Eee PC then it’ll probably set you back more than the cost of the Eee!!

Attention,

car adapter for expansys is 12-24 v.

Eeepc is 9-24 v.

Different is sostanzialy.

there are far more interesting stuff to find in the forums than the PC World compilation.

For some reason, I was expecting a page on PC World’s web site but not a page on PC World’s web site… might be to do with the fact that I knew of the .co.uk and not the .com…

Anyone notice the enlarged touchpad?

david March 4, 2008 at 3:54 pm

The whole device is a bit bigger… But looking at the price maybe it would be better to wait for HP, or get new Everex laptop 15″, VIA, 60GB, etc for 399$.

Milen March 5, 2008 at 4:43 pm

@david
This depends on what you are looking for, an ultra-mobile device or a standard laptop. The 15″ Everex will probably weight 6-7 pounds (the typical weight of a 15″ laptop). If this does not bother you to carry around all day then go for it.

At CeBIT I saw a SD card branded as “Second hard drive for EEEPC”. Its unique selling point? it was white!

Travis March 10, 2008 at 5:48 pm

In the US PC World is a magazine.

Travis March 10, 2008 at 5:49 pm

I believe the EeePC 900 is priced at 600 Euros not $600 USD.

I have bought 1. Leather Case for EeePc ; 2. Keyboard Silicon Protector for EeePc ; 3. Screen Protector for EeePC on ebay and other website. Usefully!

And my friend told me the touch screen for EeePc or battery is my next aim.

Do you think so?
