by martin on May 1, 2009

Further word develops regarding the Asus Eee PC 1008HA which we discussed here a few days ago. The Eee PC 1008HA is part of a plan by Asus to introduce a new netbook series. This new series, called the Seashell, is to comprise of a whole new design and be much slimmer than previous Eee PC releases.

Intended specifications are that it will be 2.4 pounds (1.1 kg), include a ten inch display and will have a 1.66Ghz processor. An interesting feature for the 1008HA is that all the ports will be hidden behind flaps, which will be used to give the netbook a slim appearance. Claims for battery time give it up to six hours of runtime.

The Asus Eee PC Seashell 1008HA has just been released in Taiwan. A UK launch is rumoured to be as close as next week, with pricing and availability details expected on Tuesday. No further release information is available at this time.
