Asus Eee PC T91 to arrive soon

by martin on May 9, 2009

Asus are lining up to release the newest member of the Eee PC family, the T91. The Asus Eee PC T91 might look like your average 8.9 inch netbook but comes with a certain distinguishing feature, a touch screen. In fact, this is Asus’ first netbook that features the touch screen, and it looks promising.

Other features are the standard 1024 x 600 resolution, 1.33Ghz Intel Atom Z520 processor and a 5 hour battery. The netbook should weigh only about 2 pounds, run Windows XP and will come bundled with a suite of applications targetted towards touch screen usage.

No word yet on specific availability, but it is said to be arriving very soon in the UK, though maybe not till late May or early June.  Watch this space for U.S. release information.

Given the popularity of aftermarket touchscreens, the only question is: what took them so long?

I do hope the machine is optimized for a touchscreen. A screen that swivels all the way around and allows you to use the machine as a tablet would be very cool. An 8.9 inch form factor and solid state memory might just be what the Tablet PC concept needs to “break out.” It would make for a very portable and durable tablet.

Yeah dave, it is optimized for a touchscreen & if I remember right, its a hard screem thats good for writing. Unlike the Gigabyte (soft) touchscreen netbooks.

I have a feeling its a 1.33ghz to cut costs … so they can spend the little extra on the TS. So it works out to be the same price as a 1.6ghz.
