Asustek unveiled the new Seashell Eee PC yesterday and expects that half of it’s sales during the upcoming months will comprise of the Seashell PC. The company’s current strategy rest on the new Seashell Eee PC and they hope to keep up production for it to remain in the market for up to a year to avoid inventory problems and take advantage of economies of scale.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Asus are planning on a brother release of the 1008HA Seashell, which will feature a removable battery. This is in contrast with the newly released original Seashell Eee PC which has a non-replaceable battery. No release date or other information has been made available yet.
