The New Asus Eee T91 touch screen PC reviewed

by martin on May 14, 2009

The Asus Eee PC T91 touch screen is looking favourable. TechRadar recently got their hands on a pre-production release and checked it to see if it lived up to the hype. It has been confirmed that the T91 uses the 1.33Ghz Intel Atom Z520 processor, which is more energy efficient than the 1.6Ghz Intel Atom CPU that is commonly found in the Asus Eee PC line.

The T91 also uses the US15W chipset, with such built-in capabilities as HD video decoding, which helps it handle 720p video smoothly.

Unfortunately, it comes with the same “problem” that the new Asus Eee PC 1008HA Seashell netbook sports; a non-replaceable battery. But on the upside, the tablet mode is said to work just as well as expected. An expected release date is sometime in June.

Oh god, I can’t wait! If it doesn’t come with multi-touch (which I think it doesn’t, right?) I might replace the screen with a trans reflective multi-touch one… *drool*

Anyone know the exact differences between the processor and graphics chip set of the t91 vs. the t101?
