The Asus Eee PC 1101HA and the T91 again

by martin on June 5, 2009

Asus are flouting their latest release to the Eee Seashell PC line with the 1101HA. The 1101HA, which we mentioned earlier, will feature an 11.6 inch display with a 1366 x 768 resolution. It is the third in Asus’ new line of Seashell netbooks and boasts 11 hours of battery time. The netbook was found at Computex, and many of it’s specifications were confirmed. Alongside what we previously mentioned, it will carry wireless draft-N, 1.3 megapixel web camera, bluetooth, multi-touch trackpad and a digital array microphone. Keep your eyes open for this.

Further news on the Eee PC T91 touchscreen PC, there is still no pricing or availability information yet, despite that it is now an official product from Asus. However, there has been a new development; the Asus Eee PC T91 will support multi-touch, but only via a special premium Windows 7 SKU T91 release.

The 11″ computer is nice, but I prefer a 10″ with 768 vertical resolution. My 900HA does not show much vertically, especially websites containing frames. 600 vertical res is not good.

Well, I was looking to jump on either the T91GO or T101GO aka T101S. But now it seems to be a better bet to wait for the specifications to stabilize and wait for the Windows 7 Load to hit these machines.

I prefer the larger touch screen and now with the multitouch screen functionality making its way to the T series, it is making it more and more appealing to wait for these new features and take advantage of the improved drivers when they make it to market.

When they say “multi-touch” do they mean dual touch? The video only has two simultaneous touches, but I’ve seen interfaces with more. Anyone have any idea?
