Anxious About the Eee T91

by martin on June 18, 2009

The Asus Eee PC T91 should be right around the corner. Well, it should be anyway. Asus have a very much anticipated newcomer to their netbook market, the T91 touch screen netbook with swivel ability and tablet mode, and they are not revealing any details.

Rumor originally had it that it would appear in early July, we just did not know when. Further details revealed by Asus indicate late July. Many Eee fans are hoping that this delay does not go on any further. Especially with the indication that a future update and revision to the model would include a multi-touch feature, even if only with a specific Windows 7 configuration.

It would be in their best interest to reveal the Asus Eee PC T91 very, very soon, as it would no doubt improve their profitability, not to mention of course, make a lot of Eee fans very happy.

Screw it, I’ve been waiting too long already, First it was March, then June, then July, now late July. And I don’t even know IF I’ll be able to get one because of a “limited North american release”!

I so wanted this light weight portable wonder….

*sigh* I guess I’ll just pick up an HP TX2 this weekend….

Seriously Asus. Release the t91 already.

Though I suppose I shouldn’t complain too much, as I’ll be waiting for the multitouch model anyway…

The other question is whether or not the Atom Z520 is fast enough for this thing. I love the form factor, but Asus’ launch plans seems to be to release a cheap one first, then ramp up the processor. Not that the T91 will be all that cheap to begin with anyhow.

The Windows 7 factor also comes into play. Does it mean that its initial launch T91 will not contain multitouch hardware or is it merely disabled through software? Needless to say, if the former is true, I’ll be waiting for the inevitable Windows 7 version, hopefully with a more powerful CPU and (perhaps too much to hope) Nvidia Ion.
