Eee PC fans will not be happy. The anxiously awaited Eee PC T91, the Eee with the touch screen, swivel ability and tablet mode, has been delayed again.
At first, it was expected in later May or early June, then we were geared up for early July, now it has slipped to late July. One hopes the logical problems have been sorted out and that Asus can quickly get the T91 out onto the eager market. After all, it does/will support multi-touch.
No actual release date has been mentioned, but apparently Asus UK are confirming that this should be the last delay and that it definitely should be available by late July. The reason given for the delay was that Asus were still working on the interface and wanted to be absolutely happy that the touch screen was going to deliver all that it could. After all, this is the first product of it’s kind from Asus, so they want to make sure they get it right.
A multi-touch SKU has been confirmed and is set to launch with Windows 7, but apparently this depends entirely on how well the T91 sells during the third quarter of 2009. Rumour is that the 10 inch tablet netbook, the Eee PC T101, has decreased in priority for the company, but is still a planned release from Asus.

First, some language policing: The _anxiously awaited_ Eee PC T91…
OnTopic: I wonder what can be so difficult in producing the T91 – unless they are waiting for the prices of the parts to go down a little before mass production… That UI tweaking sounds like an excuse…
One out of 50 isn’t bad for slight grammar. Corrected, thanks.
These delays are embarrassing. But now on the eve of Windows 7 – to realease a non multitouch , and to only release a multitouch if they sell enough of these 1st units seems like a Marketing disaster.
I think eveyone will wait the multitouch (only a few months to Windows 7), if not from Asus eee T91 then probably from soemone else.
Bad show ASUS
I certainly would not buy the non-multitouch version. Of course, I think I would be hard pressed to pay any more than $400 for it even with multitouch. I’m waiting for the version that plays Hulu/Youtube HD on a 1920×1080 output and costs that much.
Really, Asus should just push back production until windows 7 comes out, and then only produce the multitouch model. And also not nerf it for the American release… jerkfaces.
I don’t think their going to change the hardware for windows 7, just the os.
