The Asus Eee Keyboard has recently been dissected (in French), answering a few questions about this very curious and unique release. The Eee PC Keyboard is essentially an Asus Eee PC netbook computer placed inside a slightly larger keyboard case and instead of it being a complete headless laptop, there is a touch screen on the right hand side rather than a screen at the top.
The intention behind the above is that users will connected via wireless HDMI to a HDTV to use the Eee Keyboard while you operate the keyboard from your living room couch and optionally use the touch screen with shortcut buttons to operate its various functions.
The innards reveal typical but useful netbook specifications such as including the Intel Atom N280 1.66Ghz processor, a solid state hard disk and a battery. The main point of interest is the included side touch screen which is five inches and will run at a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The touch screen can be used separately when you do not wish to connect to a TV or display and you can use the touch screen as a PDA if you wish, with the obvious difference that you get a full size keyboard to use with it.
A concern might be that the RAM is soldered to the motherboard, which probably hinders all but the most dedicated of modders in considering upgrading the memory, and that the battery time under tests only fetches about two hours between charges.
Either way, as a reminder of the way life was with the Amiga and Commodore 64, the Eee Keyboard PC will prove to be a very interesting model to be included in the Asus line.

What a perfect item to place on my dining room table! It would come in handy during meals. It would give me something to do rather than stare at the wall when I eat.
The touch screen wont come to much use I feel.
Basically think about it like this, why would someone carry a keyboard with them all the time?
Mehboob, I think the idea is that it will be a media computer. The touch screen can be used to do simple computer task like check email, twitter, or start a down load of a new RSS feed T.V. show while still watching a show on the big screen T.V. At least that is what I think that is would use it for.
I am glad to see the bit about WIRELESS HDMI. that was the one thing I didn’t get about this machine. Who would want a HDMI cable strung across their room?
HI THERE YOU ARE RIGHT YOU CAN BUY A WI-FI OR BLUETOOTH THAT CONECTS TO YOUR TV SOO YOU CAN WATCH VIDO ON A BIG SCREEN WITHOUT USEING A COMPUTER WITH A SLOW HARD DRIVE
