For the 64GB price of 300$, you’re better off spending that on a more expensive netbook/laptop.

They have a 32GB model too which sells ~half but unless you need it, its probably better to wait things out until the prices drop from this new technology.

Will this work an fit for a eee701 too?

Not on a regular 701, no. If you have a 701SD or 701SDX, then yes.
