Continental Travel Charger- Also For Car and Air

Saturday, February 9th, 2008 by ant

There’s a new travel charger for the Eee PC from Incipio. It allows you to use your Eee PC all around the world including North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and more.

However, it’s not just a travel charger- it also includes adapters for both car and airplane. As a result, you can pretty much power your Eee PC wherever you are.

You can find out more about it here.

DigiLegend case for EEE reviewed

DigiLegend case for EEE

I’ve uploaded my review of the DigiLegend case for the EEE- it is available at http://eeepcworld.wordpress.com/2008/02 … e-for-eee/

Unlike the other cases which I have reviewed, the Digilegend case is a satchel-style, with a shoulder strap (but no shoulder pad). This makes it absolutely ideal for carrying around; with the weight of the EEE, it would be very easy to sling the case of your shoulder and forget about it. As one might expect, the shoulder strap is adjustable, so you can make it as long or as short as you wish (within reason!); it’s worth noting, though, that you cannot remove the strap completely without modifying the case, as it is sewn firmly in place at one end, although you could tuck it into the bag…

At $17.50, I think that it is an excellent piece of kit!

Brando Brings 3rd Party Travel Charger and Car Charger

Monday, February 4th, 2008 by ant

If you’ve been looking for a travel charger or a car charger for your Eee PC, you’re in luck!

The Brando Workshop ASUS Eee PC Travel Charger allows you to charge your Eee PC wherever you are across the world. It sells for $23.

If you’re on the road locally, they have the ASUS Eee PC Car Charger Cable for you- for only $18. Not bad at all!

It’s good to see 3rd parties beginning to make accessories for the Eee PC!

32GB SDHC Cards Coming In April

Thursday, January 31st, 2008 by ant

8GB and 16GB SDHC cards just not enough space for you? You’re in luck.

Sandisk will be releasing a massive 32GB SDHC card in April, for $349. It will be interesting to see the read speeds of the card as some are fast enough to be able to be quite close to the Eee PC’s internal SSD. As a result, you can use some SDHC cards as your primary Eee PC drive, and even install Windows XP on it.

Fabrix case for EEE reviewed

Monday, January 28th, 2008 by Neil

I’ve uploaded my review of the Fabrix case for the EEE: http://eeepcworld.wordpress.com/2008/01 … e-for-eee/

Fabrix case for EEE

“The Fabrix cases offer the benefits of padding (which does, it must be said, add a fair bulk to the case), and, optionally, handles, but, most of all, offers a degree of personality which the corporate Asus case cannot hope to match. With the fully-customised sleeve (the more expensive of the two cases here) at approximately £27 at today’s exchange rate, the prices are not cheap, but neither are they unreasonable- these cases are well-made, with solid stiching and good construction. Shipping is an extra $9, so this should be factored in also - however, as the cases come from Singapore, this is not excessive, in my opinion. If you want a case for your EEE which is aesthetically somewhat out of the ordinary, Fabrix could well be the case manufacturer for you.”

You can discuss this review, and read comments from other users, on the forum.

If you’re interested in seeing photos of the upcoming Eee PC accessories, the guys over at the French Eee PC website blogeee.net have plenty of up close shots.

I personally like seeing the 6 cell 7800 mAh battery… the only question- will it still fit in the 4G slip case?

ASUS has posted new information on accessories for the Eee PC line on the Eee PC homepage. The accessories line includes:

  • An optical mouse, which matches the different Eee PC colors
  • Noise-isolation headphones which come in black or white
  • Replacement power adapters
  • And best of all: Batteries!
    • 4 cell 5200mAh
