Asus and Intel have joined forces to create a new initiative which seeks to make a netbook designed by the community. Prizes for involvement in the community will include giving away 40+ netbooks, notebooks and gaming notebooks.

Asus and Intel will be hand picking winners in the contest based upon the quality of feedback received and how much influence and impact they have in the community.

They are looking for anything and everything that are the dream features that users believe are missing and are also looking for things that Asus and Intel might never have thought of. They want to know what YOU want to see from the next Eee PC.

So check it out and who knows, maybe after rallying up some support, your dream feature might be in the very next Eee PC. What do YOU want to see in your next Eee PC?

A New Promotion From Asus on Facebook

Asus are migrating to a new fan page on facebook and when this happens, there has to be a way to get the word out. Well, as it turns out, there is. Asus are trying to get not only their existing five thousand existing member over to their new facebook group but are now try to get over ten thousand members.

So what is the best way to get attention, get people curious and drive up numbers? A raffle of course! Yes, Asus are now running a raffle and are giving away netbooks and netbook accessories. Winners will be drawn at random from the official Asus fan page and will get a random prize. Prizes include: Eee PC 1005HA Seashell, Eee PC 1008HA Seashell, Eee BOX, 80GB leather bound external harddrive, 80GB leather bound external harddrive, Eee External Optical drive, Eee External Optical drive, Eee Optical Mouse, Eee Optical Mouse, and a Mystery Notebook.

The winner of the CarryMobile Snake Print Case from our recent contest is Newsguy, as his post number 105 was randomly selected. Congratulations to him- his Eee PC will now have some solid protection! He says he’ll drop us a note on how he likes the case, so we’ll certainly pass that on to all of you.

I hope you all enjoyed the contest, it’s the first time I’ve ran ever ran one. The most fun was reading all of your responses to the contest question- it seems like many of your Eee PC’s live in constant danger! Please feel free to send me feedback on future contest ideas. I’d like to be able to include the community in some sort of voting-for-best-post situation in future contests rather than random drawings.

The contest ends at 12:00AM EST on 1/30/2008. I’ll close the thread at this time.
You may only reply once to the thread.
Each reply will receive a unique ID number and will be entered with your username into a spreadsheet. The winner will be chosen at random.
We will contact the winner of the case via e-mail within 24 hours of the end of the contest. They have 48 hours to reply. If they do not, we will select a new winner at random and repeat the process.
